- Balance - visual weight distribution within a layout.
- White Space - empty space around the elements in a design.
- Proportion - carefully choosing the size of elements in relation to each other.
- Hierarchy - order of importance of the elements in a design.
- 4.5:1 - the minimum contrast ratio for text to meet the AA standard.
- PPI - The number of pixels per one inch of an image.
Types of alignment
The process of arranging text and images in a way that creates a visual connection between elements.
- left alignment
- center alignment
- right alignment
- justified alignment
- vertical alignment
Whitespaces
- Macro - space between larger elements like images, text blocks and buttons.
- Active - that is intentionally created to help guide the user’s eye and draw attention to certain elements on the page.
- Passive - that is left over after all the elements on a page have been placed.
